About Wiederhold Creations

Dennis Wiederhold is a traditional woodworker who grew up in Dubuque, Iowa. Dubuque has a long history  in woodworking. This small city once boasted one of the largest architectural millworks in the world producing countless pieces of furniture, millwork and lumber out of the beautiful upper Mississippi Valley hardwoods.Grandfather Wiederhold started his long millwork career in these millworks in 1929 . Besides being formly trained at Dubuque Senior High School vocational woodworking  program ,one of the finest  for its time,Dennis was inspired  as a child by the Trappistine monks of the New Melleroy Abbey located just outside Dubuque ,   These Monks are well known for their  woodworking craftsmanship  producing beauitiful caskets made from  wood  cut  from the timber located on  abbey property.

Dennis relocated to sunny Florida over thirty years ago and for many years owned and operated Wiederhold Landscaping.  In 2000, he decided to return to his roots and started a small architectural millshop in Bradenton Florida, producing high end millwork.

While visiting family in Berkeley, California Dennis noticed beautiful garden gates incorporated into well-designed landscapes.  He thought about how wonderful they would look in many of Florida's landscapes.  So after much investigation and preparation he started Wiederhold Creations, creator of fine garden and pedestrian gates, outdoor furniture, and much more.
